Writers on the Air 2019 Open Mic is on hiatus November and December and will start again January 25th 2020 with a new schedule of Readers and themes for the new year. Keep an eye out on this page or at Writers On the Air at Meetup.com.
All WOA Open Mics are Fourth Saturday of the Month from January through October at the Sacramento Poetry Center, 1719 25th St, 9:30am -1:00pm

All WOA venues are open to the public.

Every Monday, except for holidays, 9:30am-11:00am WOA hosts a Write for the Open Mic at the South Natomas Community Center, 2921 Truxel Rd, Sacramento, Ca 95833. Come and write for one hour/ bring something to critique (1000 wds or less). Strictly voluntary.

November 17th, Prose in the Afternoon at SPC, 4:00pm-5:30pm. Join this new venue organized by Jennifer O’Neill Pickering featuring a reading by a published writer, a flash fiction reading and an open mic of “hooks” 100 words or less.
November’s Readers are Lois Ann Abraham and Anara Guard.

Storyteller’s Cafe

Dear Story Lovers,

It’s the beginning of autumn, back to school time and best of all… time for the next Storyteller’s Cafe!!!

The Storyteller’s Cafe continues to encourage donations and volunteers in support of the powerful work of Yolo CASA (www.yolocasa.org) and you’ll understand why when you hear the riveting true story from CASA Executive Director, Tracy Fauver, of a father’s determination to be reunited with his kids and the powerful role played by his children’s CASA volunteers during their time in the foster care system.

Doors open at 5pm–we suggest you come early to guarantee a seat (last Cafe was standing room only), enjoy food and drink with your friends and meet the tellers. The program will begin promptly at 6pm and end by 8:30, with a short break in the middle.

Our community of story-lovers continues to grow–come join the fun at this unique, intimate evening of entertainment and if any of you would like to tell a tale at a future Cafe, please let me know.
