I am a Chico writer who is very active in the local poetry scene. Pegasus Press in London recently published my chapbook SOMETIMES THE SOUL NEEDS CHOCOLATE: PANDEMIC ODES. These poems reflect the confusion, fear, and despair that I, like many people felt during those chaotic times. I alsy had wistful, nostalgic, ironic, and funny thoughts and feelings.I will read some poems from this collection on a Chico radio station soon. I am writing to ask if I can read some selections on a Sacramento station. I am enclosing a blurb that Amazon created for it. I can send more information upon request, including some poems from the collection. Please let me know how we can share information about this book.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Paul Belz

sorry it took so long to reply, Paul. I’d be interested in hearing some of your poetry. I have a radio program called writers on the air at KUBU-96.5 LP Fm here in Sacramento. Streamed at accesssacramento.org I used to host a live venue by the same name and record the open mic and play it on radio. Thats what most of the current content on this website is. You’d have to record (mp3) some of your poetry and send it to me via this outlet. I’d play it on the radio, Mondays at 12:00. I don’t retain any rights but once it gets out there, its out there. You should send a short bio too.

Is it possible to mention that the book is available on Amazon? If not, that is fine, I am happy for people to hear them. Also, the first poem, ODE TO A CANADA GOOSE was just nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
I’m an environmental educator and nature writer who’s lived in Chico for 7 years. A number of my poems have appeared in magazines, anthologies and on websites, and I won honorable mention in Chico News and Review’s poetry contest twice. Also, magazines and websites have shared my articles on environmental education, natural history, and travel. Anchr Books just published my book BIDWELL PARK: PERSONAL REFLECTIONS AND CASUAL CONVERSATIONS ABOUT CHICO’S CROWN JEWEL. I am also a hiker and camper, a world traveler, and a good vegetarian cook. Thanks, and please let me know that this arrived.
